Frequently asked questions
What we do
What does Kalla Connect do?
We are a technology partner for law firms. We design, build and implement custom software, automation and integrations, and we train your team to use them.
Do you sell software?
No. We do not sell off-the-shelf software. We start from how your firm works and build what it needs.
Which firms do you work with?
We work with law firms of all kinds in the United States.
Do you give legal advice?
No. Kalla Connect provides technology services and does not provide legal advice.
What does Kalla Connect not do?
We do not sell off-the-shelf software, give legal advice, represent clients or act as your firm's lawyers. Our work is the technology and the processes around it; your firm keeps its legal decisions.
Are you a law firm?
Kalla Connect is a technology company, not a law firm. It does not practice law, does not give legal advice or legal opinions, does not represent clients and does not create an attorney-client relationship.
Case management, mail and calls
Can you work with our case management system?
We configure, clean up and connect the case management system a firm already uses, and we train the team.
Do you handle our physical mail?
We design the workflow for incoming and outgoing mail, connect it to providers and keep it running. The physical handling is done by those providers.
Can you answer our phone calls?
We set up call routing, messages and caller details, working with providers connected to your systems.
Will a call or a letter end up in the case record?
That is the purpose of the workflow. Each call or letter is recorded with its date and status in the case record, so the firm can see what happened.
Documents, clients and reports
Can you prepare documents and send them for signature?
We set up templates, generate documents from case data for a person to review, and send them for signature through providers connected to your workflow.
Can clients get updates without calling the firm?
We set up status updates, appointment reminders and online scheduling tied to the case record. A person reviews the messages that matter.
Can you connect our billing software?
We connect time capture and reports to the billing software your firm already uses, through its own integrations.
Getting started
How do we start?
With a diagnostic. We look at how your firm works today and set out what to improve first and in what order.
What do you need from my firm?
One person who can make decisions, access to the people who know the process, and the tools and examples we need to see how work moves.
How do we book a consultation?
Use the Book a consultation button. Tell us about your firm and what you would like to improve, and we will reply to arrange a first conversation.
What should we prepare before the first conversation?
Nothing formal. It helps to have a short description of the work that takes your team the most time, the tools you use today and who decides at your firm.
Can we start with something small?
Yes. We begin with a diagnostic, and the first project can be a single workflow. After that, your firm decides whether to continue.
Timelines and fees
How much does the diagnostic cost?
The price of the diagnostic is agreed with your firm before we begin. Prices are not published: each service is custom, and its price is agreed with each firm.
How are projects priced?
Every project is custom. We agree the price with each firm before work begins, based on the scope we define together.
How do you keep a project from growing without limit?
We agree on what will be built and what it does not include. The scope is closed before work starts, so both sides know what to expect.
How do you charge?
Every service is custom, and its price is agreed with each firm before work begins. We do not publish prices.
Can you tell me how long a project will take?
It depends on the scope, so we do not give a standard duration. After the diagnostic we define the scope together, and the timeline is discussed with your firm before work starts.
Do you promise results or savings?
No. We do not promise results, savings or a particular outcome. We help your firm choose what to improve first and set a way to check afterwards whether it worked.
Monthly support
What does monthly support cover?
Monthly support keeps what we built working as your firm changes. It covers fixes, updates and small improvements. Support is a service agreed with each firm, and its price is agreed with that firm.
Confidentiality
How do you approach confidentiality?
We design with confidentiality in mind: we collect the minimum, limit access by role, review anything that uses AI and keep environments separate. This is our approach, not a certification.
Does AI see our client information?
We use AI only where it clearly saves time, and a person reviews the result before it is used.
What happens to my firm's data?
We access only what a project needs, only for as long as it needs it. We do not sell or share your firm's information, and we do not use it for anything other than the agreed work. When support ends, we remove access and return or delete any copies of your firm's information made for the work.
Who can access our information?
Access is limited by role to what the agreed work needs. Before we work with client information, we agree on confidentiality terms in writing with your firm. After a project ends, we keep access only if your firm has a support plan with us, and only to what that support requires. Your firm can withdraw access at any time.
What happens if we stop working together?
Because every service is agreed with each firm, the terms for ending one are agreed with that firm too. When support ends, we remove access and return or delete any copies of your firm's information made for the work.
